The fact box is a package of historical events happening in Russia during the Soviet Union regime. I carved balsa wood and burnt the surface of the box to give it a character. The four cubes represents some of the historical facts that happened during Communism time such as Chernobil (1986), Siege of Leningrad (1941-1944), Cold War (1947-1991) and Russian Revolution (1917) In Russia, communism begun after Tsar Nicholas II lost his power during the February Revolution in 1917.

Memento is centered around a particular memory of my childhood which is s fishing boat. My grandfather and I used to fish together at our summer house on the lake. I used balsa wood and I shaped the oval by using a sandpaper machine. I drilled an empty space inside of the boat and glued seats painted in black ink. The exterior of my fishing boat was green and interior was black. Also, I used blue ink to represent the water. There were two seats on each side of the boat, one for me and one for my grandfather. I made a fishing net out of brown thread, then I french braided it; first, to represent the use of the boat and second, to represent my young age.

Kazakhstan is a country in Central Asia that used to be part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. After the collapse of Soviet Union, Kazakhstan declared itself fully independent public on December 16, 1991.
I used the yurt to represent country of Kazakhstan, then I used the elements of the Kazakhstan Flag such as flying eagle under the sun and painted on the top of the yurt that creates a focal point of the blueprint. The sizeof the yurt and specific place represent the Kazakhstan republic compared to Russian Federation which painted as the Russian Flag. I used balsa wood stripes in blue color to represent the rivers that crossing the border of Kazakhstan/Russia as well as railroad made of balsa wood painted in black ink.
Very interesting. Precision representation shows character of the artist, knowledge of a country, and passion for perfection. Enjoyed it very much.
